Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management Bhubaneswar celebrated the World Tourism Awards 2024

Bhubaneswar:28/9/24: The Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, Bhubaneswar (Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India) celebrated the World Tourism Awards 2024 ceremony today, i.e. 27th September 2024 at the institute premises as part of the World Tourism Day celebrations. The Annual World Tourism Awards launched by IITTM Bhubaneswar provides an opportunity to showcase promote, encourage, and reward tourism excellence

On this occasion, the Nodal Officer, Dr. Md. Sabir Hussain extended the welcome address and gave an insightful talk on World Tourism Day 2024 “Tourism and Peace”. Professor & Programme Coordinator, Dr. Adyasha Das elaborated upon several new initiatives taken up by IITTM as well as the week-long activities for the World Tourism Day celebrations. She also elaborated on the genesis and goals of the World Tourism Awards of Excellence. The Chief Guest, Dr. Rosalin Patasani Mishra, (Founder/President, Parichay Foundation, PARINEETI, Parichay Magazine, Secretary, PRAYAS)  lauded the efforts of the institute to recognize excellence and elaborated on the significance of a multifaceted approach to inclusiveness in tourism.

Field of Culture and Heritage: Dr. Sangita Gosain, Eminent Odissi Vocalist.

Field of Social Services: Shri Rashmi Ranjan Patasani Corporator, Ward No-65, BMC.

Field of Tourism Excellence: Alumni, Mrs. Sanghamitra Roul Executive, IRCTC, Bhubaneswar.

Field of Eco-tourism:  Dr. Sanjib Kumar Sarangi,  Chief Fundraising and Partnerships Officer, Indian Grameen Services,

Field of In-house work: Shri Debi Prasad Samal, MTS, IITTM

Dr. Adyasha Das: Mrs. S. Pradhan hosted the program and Mr. N. Subramaniam gave the Vote of Thanks. The students had a great experience interacting with the awardees. Luminaries attended the event from the field of Tourism, Travel, and Heritage

Ashok Palit has completed his graduation from Upendranath College Soro, Balasore and post graduation from Utkal University in Odia Language and literture.. He has also carved out a niche for himself as a scribe of eminence after joining the profession in 1988. He is also an independent media production professional. He had made solid contribution on cinema in many odia Dailies and weekly such as Samaj, Prajatantra, Dharatri, Samaya, Satabadi, and weekly Samaya.
