Odisha Cabinet approved ‘Data Dissemination Policy of Official Statistics, 2024

Bhubaneswar:28/9/24: The Odisha Cabinet on Saturday approved ‘Data Dissemination Policy of Official Statistics, 2024’ for the Directorate of Economics & Statistics (DE&S) under Planning & Convergence Department.

According to an official press release, Data Dissemination Policy of Official Statistics in respect of DE&S, Odisha will provide a framework for the dissemination of statistical data/product of the DE&S, Odisha, and facilitate release of official statistics on time following a fixed calendar.

The policy will enhance the quality of data and user engagement thereby promoting informed decision making by the policymakers, planners, researchers, etc.

This will encourage the participation of various stakeholders in the statistical process of the State. Thereby the demand for relevant statistics will be generated which will create the opportunity to fill up the data gaps in different socio-economic areas of the state.

By and large, the democratic process will be strengthened when quality data and information are made available to all the stakeholders including the public.
