Bhubaneswar:29/9/26: Odisha added a significant milestone to its sports landscape with the grand inauguration of the All India Ladies Open Golf Tournament at the Bhubaneswar Golf Club.
Organized by the FICCI FLO Bhubaneswar Chapter, the landmark event marks the first time Odisha is hosting an all-women national golf championship, highlighting the growth of golf in the region and creating new avenues for women in sports.
Shri Prithiviraj Harichandan, Minister for Works, Law, and Excise, Government of Odisha, inaugurated the prestigious tournament as the chief guest. Dr. Pradipta Kumar Mohanty, President of the Bhubaneswar Golf Club and Team Golf, graced the occasion.
Expressing his delight at officiating the opening tee-off, Minister Shri Harichandan emphasized that hosting an event of this caliber represents a major leap forward for sports tourism and women empowerment in Odisha. He extended his warm wishes and encouragement to all participating athletes vying for top honors on the greens.
The multi-day competition features 66 talented women golfers representing 23 cities from across India. Their presence brings a high level of competitive spirit to the premier golfing venue in Odisha.
Welcoming the dignitary and guests, Dr. Pradipta Kumar Mohanty, President of the Bhubaneswar Golf Club, shared key details regarding the club’s ongoing initiatives, infrastructure developments, and commitment to promoting golf across the state.
The inaugural ceremony was also attended by Biyat Prajna Tripathy, Chairperson of the FICCI FLO Bhubaneswar Chapter, alongside several key organizers, dignitaries, and sports enthusiasts.
The tournament not only celebrates athletic excellence and competitive sportsmanship but also serves as a crucial platform to encourage greater participation of women in professional and recreational sports across the country.
