Ashok Kumar Palit: Founder and Editor in Chief

Ashok Palit is a bilingual writer who writes in English and Odia. His articles on Cinema have been published in various newspapers and magazines in English and Odia. He has been active in the film journalism sphere for over three decades.

As a film society activist, he rose to prominence for his profound commitment to film appreciation and the aesthetics of cinema. He is also a Founder Member of the Bhubaneswar Film Festival.

He was the editor of the magazine, ‘Cine Samaya’, and has contributed to various academic journals. He has served as a jury member three times at the Golden Triangle International Film Festival in Bhubaneswar and twice as a member of the jury for the Odisha State Film Awards and Odisha State Tele Awards, hosted by the Government of Odisha.

He was also a member of the jury in the preview committee for 54 IFFI & WEB SERIES FOR 55 IFFI & Jury for Best Writing in Cinema in the 71st National Film Awards organized by NFDC and the Ministry of I&B, Government of India.

Ashok writes on cinema regularly in print and digital spaces. Now he stays in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, with his family.
