INS Sudarshini Arrives In Lisbon As Part Of Lokayan 26 Expedition

Lisbon:23/8/26: Indian Navy’s sail training ship INS Sudarshini arrived in Lisbon, Portugal, on August 22 as part of its ongoing Lokayan 26 transoceanic expedition. The three-masted barque made its entry through the Tagus River, showcasing traditional sailing and seamanship skills.

During the port call, the ship’s crew and trainees are scheduled to participate in professional exchanges, cross-deck visits and cultural engagements with Portuguese naval leadership, local authorities and members of the Indian diaspora.

The Lisbon visit marks INS Sudarshini’s 15th port call in seven months of its voyage.

As part of Lokayan 26, the expedition seeks to strengthen India’s maritime connect and promote friendship, cooperation and camaraderie with partner nations.

The visit also highlights India’s enduring maritime traditions and its commitment to strengthening people-to-people and naval ties with countries across the globe.
