Glasgow:1/8/26:  That’s a wrap from a historic day for India at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, with two golds, two silvers and two bronze medals added to the medal tally.

India enjoyed a strong outing across judo and athletics, with several athletes delivering podium performances.

Judo led the charge as Asmita Dey and Harsh Singh became India’s first-ever judokas to clinch gold medals in CWG history. At the same time, Yamini Mourya added a silver after finishing runner-up.

Athletics also had a historic day, with Neeraj Chopra and Yash Vir Singh securing a double podium finish in the javelin throw final. Neeraj claimed silver with a best throw of 85.83m, while Yashvir took bronze after producing a personal best of 85.41m.

Tejaswin Shankar added another medal to India’s athletics tally, winning bronze in the decathlon. In boxing, all 10 Indian boxers progressed to the final, capping off a perfect day in the ring.

The action continues in Glasgow on Saturday, with Indian athletes set to compete across disciplines, including the triple jump final and 10 boxing gold-medal bouts.
