Bhubaneswar:1/8/26:Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, accompanied by Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, conducted an aerial survey of flood‑hit areas on Saturday.
Following the aerial survey, Shri Majhi briefed the media at Lok Seva Bhawan. He informed that 8 lakh people have been affected across multiple districts, with 2.69 lakh evacuated to safer locations. The CM said he inspected 12 blocks from the air and directed officials to submit detailed ground reports within three days of water release to assess damage.

To strengthen relief operations, the government has deployed 17 ODRAF units, 7 NDRF teams, and 129 Fire Services squads. Majhi announced that Rs 26 crore has been sanctioned from SDRF for immediate relief measures. He assured that the government is prepared to tackle post‑flood health challenges, while noting that river water levels have begun to recede and the situation is expected to improve within two days.
