New Delhi:20/7/26: The Lok Sabha witnessed intense pandemonium during the morning hours of the Monsoon Session, resulting in a total disruption of legislative business and repeated adjournments before noon.

The House convened at 11:00 AM, with the Speaker attempting to initiate the scheduled Question Hour. However, members of the opposition immediately rose from their seats, raising slogans and demanding the suspension of the regular agenda to discuss pressing national issues. The primary points of contention involved recent controversies surrounding national competitive examinations and the political situation in specific states.

Despite repeated appeals from the Chair to maintain order and allow the Question Hour to proceed, opposition members descended into the well of the House, carrying placards and chanting slogans. The Treasury benches countered the disruption, accusing the opposition of deliberately stalling vital democratic processes.

Unable to conduct business amid the rising noise levels, the Speaker announced the first adjournment of the day at 11:15 AM, suspending proceedings until 11:45 AM.

When the House reassembled at 11:45 AM, the chaotic scenes resumed almost instantly. The opposition continued their protest in the well of the House, refusing to return to their seats. The government attempted to lay papers on the table amid the din, but the persistent shouting made further proceedings impossible.

Citing a continued lack of order and decorum, the Chair adjourned the House once again at 12:00 PM, scheduling the next resumption for 2:00 PM.
