Bhubaneswar, June 27/6/25:: Odisha is all set to welcome one of its biggest and most special Odia films ever — ‘Shree Jagannathanka Nabakalebara’. This spiritual movie is based on the sacred tradition of Nabakalebara, where Lord Jagannath is believed to take a new form. The film is directed by Bini Samal, who is making her directorial debut after working as a producer. Well-known producer Dilip Kumar Jena is also part of the project.
The team has worked hard for nearly three years to bring this story to life. The film beautifully mixes devotion, tradition, and cinema. It features a star cast including Siddhant Mohapatra, Suryamayee, Jyoti, Shivani, Shritam Das, Anshuman, Pinky Pradhan, Kuna Tripathy, Ashrumochan Mohanty, Pratibha Panda, Ravi Mishra, Kedar Mishra, Ratan Meher, Saheb Singh, Shankar, Priyanka Sahoo, Rishi Pattnaik, and Shambhunath Khuntia. For the first time in Odisha, a sacred story like Nabakalabara is being brought to life with powerful VFX and cinematic excellence.
The story is based on a popular play by Shankar Tripathy. Music for the film is composed by Malay Mishra, with songs sung by Ira Mohanty, Satyajit Pradhan, Antara Chakraborty, and Satyabrata Sahoo. One devotional song, ‘Jagatare Paibuni Emiti Thakur…’ written by Dr. Nirmal Nayak, is already winning hearts. Famous spiritual leader Chandrabhanu Satapathy has also written and composed two songs for the movie. With its rich story, cast, and devotional music, ‘Shree Jagannathanka Nabakalebara’ is ready to touch the hearts of devotees and movie fans as well on July 4.
