Meeting held on new cold storage policy

So far 82 entrepreneurs have registered
● Interested entrepreneurs are requested to register on GO SUGAM portal as soon as possible
● Advised to take advantage of the financial assistance provided by the government

Bhubaneswar- 17.05.2025:A discussion was held between the members of the Odisha Cold Storage Association and the entrepreneurs interested in setting up cold storage under the chairmanship of Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment Department, at the conference hall of Krushi Bhawan. On this occasion, the departmental officers had a detailed discussion with the entrepreneurs about the new cold storage policy of the state government.

Agricultural entrepreneurs from different parts of the state expressed that, this step will help in preserving agricultural produce and accelerating the agricultural economy in the coming days. In this context, the members of the Odisha Cold Storage Association appreciated this innovative step of the government and presented their views, which will make the policy even more easier and simpler in the future. The Principal Secretary has informed that the positive suggestions from the entrepreneurs will be implemented in the coming days.

On this occasion, the Principal Secretary, Dr. Padhee said that all kinds of assistance will be provided to the eligible entrepreneurs on behalf of the department. The entrepreneurs have been advised to apply as soon as possible on the GO-SUGAM Portal to avail financial assistance provided by the government.

It is worth noting that so far 82 interested entrepreneurs from 25 districts of the state have registered on the GO-SUGAM Portal. The process will be started soon.
