Dr Pradeep Mahapatra, a distinguished senior journalist passed away

Bhubaneswar:2/8/24: Dr Pradeep Mahapatra, a distinguished senior journalist and the retired Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Berhampur University passed away on Friday morning at 69.

He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the Capital city.

Dr. Mahapatra became ill recently and was transferred from Berhampur to Bhubaneswar for medical care. He was diagnosed with pneumonia at a critical stage. His condition worsened during treatment at a private facility, necessitating ventilator support. While receiving treatment, he experienced a cardiac arrest, which resulted in severe brain damage.

Dr. Mahapatra contributed to various publications and regularly wrote columns in Odia and English. His passing has been mourned by the students, faculty, and staff of Berhampur University, as well as by members of the media in Odisha.
