Chairman 5T & NabinOdisha Kartik Pandian visited Bhadrak district

Bhadrak: 25/2/24: As per the direction of CM Naveen Patnaik, Chairman 5T & NabinOdisha Shri Kartik Pandian visited Bhadrak district. During the visit, he reviewed the progress of the Baitarani Left Embankment Strengthening and Road Development Project at a total cost of ₹150.24 Cr

The embankment strengthening project will reduce the impact of floods in Bhandaripokhari, Dhamnagar & Chandbali areas during flood situations in river Baitarani. The pucca road from Biridi to Tintar Ghat over the river embankment will reduce travel time by 2 hours between Biridi to Tintar Ghat, provide faster access to Jajpur Medical College & NH 16. The project would benefit as many as 1,20,00 people in Bhadrak.

Shri Pandian reviewed the progress of Akhuapada & Kochila Instream Storage Structures over river Baitarani at a total cost of ₹681 Cr. Both projects would provide irrigation facilities to an ayacut area of 81,200 acres. Water will be available in the Rabi season for cultivation. It will help in fishery sector development in the area.

During the visit, the 5T Chairman participated in public meetings at Akhuapada field & IGM College field in Dhamnagar. He informed the public about the major decisions like an increase in social security pensions across all categories by ₹500 which would benefit around 58 lakh beneficiaries. Shri Pandian informed that financial assistance under MAMATA Yojana has been increased from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000. This will further benefit women & infants towards improved nutrition and better health outcomes. During his interaction with the public, Shri Pandian received grievances on various issues and assured them of an early resolution.
