Chief Justice Of Orissa HC Inaugurates Legal Aid Defence Counsel in ten District

Cuttack:22/2/24:Chief Justice Singh, who is Patron-in Chief, Odisha State Legal Services Authority (OSLSA), inaugurated the offices in Bargarh, Bhadrak, Boudh, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Kendrapara, Nabarangpur, Puri and Sonepur in virtual mode from “Aain Seva Bhawan” in Cuttack.

Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the role of Legal Aid Defense Counsels in defending the Constitutional and fundamental rights of the UTPs and convicts. He also encouraged the Legal Aid Defense Counsels to act for the greater interest of the inmates.

Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi, Executive Chairman, OSLSA and Judges of the High Court, District Judges of 30 districts, and Judicial Officers were present. The bar associations of 10 districts where LADCS offices were inaugurated also participated in the function through virtual mode.

Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi of the High Court delivered the welcome address while Sudipta Acharya, Member Secretary, OSLSA conducted the function.
