Odisha Launches ‘Ghare Ghare Triranga’ Campaign

Bhubaneswar8/8/26:: The Government of Odisha has announced a state‑wide “Gharo Gharo Triranga” campaign to mark Independence Day 2026, running from August 9 to August 17 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi

.The campaign will begin in Bhubaneswar and extend to block and panchayat levels, with rallies, cultural programmes, and widespread citizen participation. To support the initiative, the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture has sanctioned Rs 10 lakh per district for IEC activities.

On August 9, a state‑level Tricolour Rally will be held from Hatia Asuni Ground to Lumbini Bihar Road, organised by the Sports and Youth Services Department, with the Chief Minister in attendance. The rally will feature national songs, cultural performances, and participation from government officials, youth, NCC, NSS volunteers, and citizens across Odisha. District‑level rallies will also be organised.

To ensure success, Mission Shakti women’s self‑help groups have prepared 60 lakh national flags for distribution across districts.

The campaign includes door‑to‑door awareness drives, hoardings, wall paintings, audio miking, and social‑media outreach, alongside Selfie with Triranga booths and digital certificate downloads via harghartiranga.com. Schools and colleges will also participate through online quiz competitions hosted on the MyGov portal.

Special events include:

• August 14: Partition Horrors Remembrance Day at Jayadev Bhavan, with exhibitions, short films, plays, and tributes to affected families.
• August 15: State‑level Independence Day celebrations, patriotic concerts “Bharatiyam” and “Vande Mataram 150” at Rabindra Mandap, plus sand art, rangoli displays, and selfie booths.

Officials emphasised that the campaign is not limited to government participation but is a collective celebration of national pride, urging NGOs, private institutions, and citizens to join in making the initiative a success.
