World Breast Feeding week observed by IAP ODISHA BRANCH

Bhubaneswar-06.08.2026:35th WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK was observed by IAP ODISHA BRANCH at State ANM Government Training Centre at Bhubaneswar. Around 100 ANM trainees along with the faculty of ANMTC were present in the meeting.

The meeting was inaugurated by IAP ODISHA Secretary Dr MRUTUNJAY Dash, President-elect Dr ARATABANDHU Nayak, Secretary IAP ODISHA DR MRUTUNJAY DASH, along with senior Pediatrician Dr Lingaraj Pradhan and IAP IYCF (INFANT YOUNG CHILD FEEDING CHAPTER )Secretary Dr Prasant Saboth.

Asst Director Nursing Mrs Basanti Behera and IAP Odisha state executive board member Dr Bikrant Prusty were also present.

The meeting started with a beautiful Mahisa Mardini dance by the students of the ANMTC . A small screening on breastfeeding practices was conducted, focusing on topics such as statistical analysis of breastfeeding in our state, the importance of breastfeeding, and preterm feeding to update the ANM students about their knowledge on breastfeeding.

The ANM students performed a beautiful role play on breastfeeding awareness at the end of the program.
