President Murmu Arrives in Rairangpur

Mayurbhanj:19/6/26:  President Droupadi Murmu reached Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district on Friday evening, beginning her two-day visit to Odisha.

She arrived nearly two hours later than scheduled after adverse weather forced changes to her travel plan.

The President was originally expected to land at the Dandbose Airstrip in Rairangpur at 3:45 pm on a special Air Force aircraft. Due to unfavourable conditions, her plane diverted to Kalaikunda in West Bengal. From there, she travelled by road through Bangriposi and Bisoi before reaching Rairangpur.

Officials confirmed that despite the delay, her programs will continue as planned. Later in the evening, she is scheduled to inaugurate the AIIMS satellite centre in Rairangpur. Security arrangements along the road route were tightened, and local authorities coordinated with her convoy to ensure smooth passage.

The President’s visit holds special significance for Mayurbhanj, where she is expected to attend multiple events and interact with residents. The administration has made extensive preparations, including traffic management and crowd control measures, to facilitate her engagements.
