Odisha CM Meets BJP Chief Nitin Nabin Amid Cabinet Reshuffle Buzz

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi:26/5/26: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met BJP national president Nitin Nabin in New Delhi on Tuesday amid speculation over a reshuffle in the council of ministers in the state. The Chief Minister, who is set to complete two years in the high office next month, said organisational matters and the holistic development of Odisha were discussed during the meeting.

Majhi also expressed gratitude to Nabin for his continuous support and guidance for the development of the state. The meeting with Nabin took place a day after the CM called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on Monday.

“Called on Shri@NitinNabinJi Ji, Hon’ble National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, in New Delhi today. We discussed organisational matters and the holistic development of Odisha. Grateful for his continuous support and guidance,” CM Majhi said in a post on ‘X’.

Significantly, Majhi was believed to have sought the nod of the PM for the long-awaited Ministry reshuffle and Cabinet expansion in the State when he called on Modi on Monday. He was also stated to have sought Modi’s approval for political appointments in various corporations and boards in the state.

With six ministerial berths lying vacant in the state, speculations are rife about the possible induction of new faces and reallocation of portfolios ahead of the BJP government’s second anniversary next month.

Meanwhile, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari hinted at a reshuffle in the state cabinet saying the expansion may happen any time.

“A cabinet expansion may take place at any moment. The process of appointments to corporations and boards has also started. The party and the government have already started the selection process. It will be completed very soon,” said Pujari.
