Bhubaneswar:1/4/26: The state government will develop the Satyabadi Bana Vidyalaya and its periphery in Odisha’s Puri district with an allocation of Rs 585 crore.
This was announced by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi during the celebration of state-level 91st Odisha Diwas (formation of Odisha as a separate state) at Suando, the birthplace of Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das, on Wednesday. The state government will spend around Rs 90 crore for the restoration and development of historic Bakula Bana and Satyabadi Bana Vidyalaya, which have been associated with Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das and many other freedom fighters as well as social reformers, said the Chief Minister.

Apart from this, the state government will carry out redevelopment work at Satyabadi with an allocation of Rs 495 crore. A heritage corridor will be built at Satyabadi to preserve its historical importance, added the Chief Minister.
On the occasion, Majhi visited the ancestral house of Utkalmani and paid floral tributes at his statue at Gopabandhu Park.
