Odisha Centre of Integrated Development hosted the inaugural session of Vikash Manthan 1.0 – Governance in Action 

Bhubaneswar:27/2/26:Odisha Centre of Integrated Development hosted the inaugural session of Vikash Manthan 1.0 – Governance in Action on February 27, 2026.Organised by the Planning & Convergence Department, Government of Odisha, in collaboration with the Odisha Centre of Integrated Development (OCID), the two‑day conclave aims to chart Odisha’s transformation roadmap for Viksit Odisha 2036, aligned with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Chief Secretary Anu Garg outlined Odisha’s ambitious plan to become a high‑income, inclusive, climate‑resilient and innovation‑driven economy by 2036. She highlighted that Odisha’s GSDP is estimated at Rs 9.9 lakh crore in 2025–26, marking a 9.5% increase, while the real growth rate of 7.9% surpasses the national average. The State’s per capita income has nearly tripled in a decade, rising from Rs 64,835 in 2015–16 to ₹1,86,761 in 2025–26. She stressed that growth must remain inclusive, regionally balanced and environmentally sustainable.

Dr Prafulla Ketkar, Editor of The Organiser, emphasised the importance of anchoring development in India’s civilisational ethos. He noted that Odisha’s cultural identity and Odia Asmita must power its growth model, contributing meaningfully to Viksit Bharat 2047.

Development Commissioner Deoranjan Kumar Singh described the conclave as a “Gyana Yagnya,” a confluence of thinkers, policymakers and scholars generating transformative ideas. A video presentation showcased the Vision Document 2036 & 2047, outlining strategic priorities.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Rana Prithviraj Singh, Organising Secretary, OCID. VikashManthan 1.0 marks the beginning of an institutionalised annual forum to foster collaborative governance and accelerate Odisha’s inclusive transformation.
