“Odisha Culture Development Service” was constituted under the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department

Bhubaneswar:31/1/26:In accordance with the decision of the State Cabinet a new service cadre titled “Odisha Culture Development Service” was constituted under the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department vide Notification No. 1323 dated 19.02.2024 by restructuring the District Culture Officer cadre and providing them promotional avenues. After approval of the General Administration & Public Grievance Department, Finance Department and Law Department, the cadre rule has been duly approved by the Odisha Public Service Commission. Also, approval of the Hon’ble Chief Minister has been obtained in the matter.

In the present context of promoting Odia literature and culture and in view of the various developmental and promotional initiatives being undertaken in this sector, Culture Development Officers play a vital role in effectively implementing programmes at the grassroots level, while also addressing emerging challenges related to the preservation and promotion of culture.Today, the State Cabinet has approved the recruitment and promotion rules relating to this service.
