Bhubaneswar, 2 Dec, 2025:The government resolved new patient-centric initiatives under ABPMJAY-GJAY for ensuring uninterrupted cashless treatment to the beneficiaries of Odisha. This was deliberated and resolved in the empowered committee meeting held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sri Manoj Ahuja in Lokseva Bhawan conference hall today, wherein Secretary Health and Family Welfare Aswathy outlined the issues, and Chief Executive Officer State Health Assurance Society Dr. Brundha presented the updates for discussion.
Reviewing the progress made so far, Chief Secretary Sri Ahuja directed to adoption of strict enforcement measures for the prevention of suspicious claims, non-compliance with the terms of the MOU by empanelled hospitals, and fraudulent practices. The committee deliberated the inclusion of 73 new state-specific treatment packages across oncology, haematology, and ophthalmology, raising the total number of treatment packages to 2,163 for Odisha. The proposal for adopting 121 new oncology packages and rate revision forthe existing 55 packages recommended by the medico-expert committee was also discussed in the meeting.
The matters relating to phased rollout of ABPMJAY-GJAY in Government health facilities, redesignation of 1009 Swasthya Mitras (SMs) as Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitras ( PMAMs), offline settlement of the claims against treatment of dependent children in athe ge group of 6-18 whose names did not appear in the IT platform during the phase of transition from GJAY to the combined programme of ABPMJAY-GJAY, interest-free revolving fund of Rs 10 lakh to Tata Memorial Centre ( TMC) for supporting cashless high-end diagnostic services for cancer patients, et,c figured in the meeting. Members of the committee opined that these measures, while enhancing the outreach of the universal health programme, will raise the satisfaction level of the people.
Development Commissioner Smt Anu Garg, Principal Secretary Finance Sri Sanjeeb Mishra, Principal Secretary Electronics and IT Sri Vishal Kumar Dev, Principal Secretary Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Sri Sanjay Kumar Singh, along with other senior officers and experts, participated in the deliberations.
