Odisha Hosts 37th Sub-Junior National Badminton Championship

Bhubaneswar:1/12/25: The 37th Sub-Junior National Badminton Championship commenced today at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. The tournament, jointly organised by the Badminton Association of India, Odisha State Badminton Association, and the Sports & Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha, will be held from 1st to 6th December.

The opening ceremony was graced by Sports & Youth Services Minister Shri Suryabanshi Suraj, who attended as the Chief Guest. In his address, Minister Shri Suraj said that hosting the 37th Sub-Junior National Badminton Championship is a moment of pride for Odisha. He added that players from various States and Union Territories have gathered to compete in this prestigious event and expressed confidence that all participants would deliver exceptional performances.

He further stated that organising national-level tournaments in Odisha will inspire young badminton talents across the State and contribute towards building a bright future for sports.

The tournament features competitions in the Under-15 and Under-17 categories with participation from shuttlers from across the country.

Shri Sachin Ramachandra Jadhav, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Sports & Youth Services Department, Dr. Yeddula Vijay, Director, Sports & Youth Services Department, Dronacharya Awardee Coach Shri Ganguly Prasad, Shri Sanjeev Sachdeva, Selection Committee Member of the Indian Junior Badminton Team, Shri V. Murali Krishna, Indian Para Badminton Coach, Shri Gobardhan Reddy, Indian Badminton Coach and Shri K.K. Sharma, Joint Secretary, Badminton Association of India were present in today’s inaugural event.
