Odisha spent Rs 13.08 Crore on Subhadra Yojana portal:Pravati Parida

Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: The Odisha Government has spent Rs 13.08 crore on the development, maintenance, and cloud hosting of the Subhadra Yojana portal, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida informed the Assembly on Saturday.

Responding to a question from BJD MLA Arvind Mohapatra, Parida — who also heads the Women and Child Development Department — said the expenditure covered portal development, round-the-clock maintenance, security upgrade,s and cloud-hosting infrastructure. Of the total amount, Rs 1,54,78,000 was utilised for maintenance, development, and data-security measures, while Rs 12,28,15,000 was spent on cloud hosting of the portal.

Parida further informed the House that the government has added a significant number of women beneficiaries to the scheme following rigorous field verification.“A total of 17,83,251 new beneficiaries have been included after detailed verification. So far, 1,03,89,801 women have received both the first and second instalments under the scheme,” she said.

Updating the Assembly on the progress of Subhadra Shakti Kendras, the Deputy Chief Minister said the government has approved 338 centres, of which 322 have already been constructed across 13 districts. Mayurbhanj leads with 25 centres, followed by Ganjam (24) and Sundargarh (21).

Launched on September 17, 2024, Subhadra Yojana is a flagship programme of the BJP-led Odisha Government and one of its key election promises. The scheme provides Rs 50,000 financial assistance to eligible women aged 21 to 60, disbursed in two annual instalments of Rs 10,000 each.
