Odisha government has taken extensive measures to ensure smooth paddy procurement from registered farmers

Bhubaneswar:29/11/25:The Odisha government has taken extensive measures to ensure smooth paddy procurement from registered farmers during the current kharif season, along with timely payment of dues. Rice millers have also committed to extending complete cooperation in the procurement process.

Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Friday held a detailed review meeting with officials of the Odisha Rice Millers’ Association at his office in Lok Seva Bhawan. The meeting focused on paddy procurement operations and the protection of farmers’ interests.

The Millers’ Association assured the Minister of all possible support and cooperation to make the procurement drive successful. Discussions also covered ways to safeguard farmers’ interests and ensure hassle-free milling and delivery of custom-milled rice (CMR).

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Food Supplies Consumer Welfare Sanjay Kumar Singh, Managing Director, Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation Sudarshan Chakravarty, Odisha Rice Millers’ Association President Mahesh Kumar Bansal, General Secretary Lakshminarayan Deepranjan Das, and other senior officials.
