Inter- Ministerial Committee meeting on Paddy procurement for Kharif crops 2025-26 held

Bhubaneswar- 25/11/2025:Inter-Ministerial Committee meeting on paddy procurement for Kharif crops 2025-26 was held today under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo. Hon’ble Minister, Revenue & Disaster Management Shri Suresh Pujari, Hon’ble Minister, Food Supplies & Consumer Awareness Shri Krushna Chandra Patra, Hon’ble Minister, Commerce & Transport Shri Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, Hon’ble Minister, Cooperation Shri Pradeep Bal Samanta were also present during the meeting.

As per the data, in the year 2023-24, 73 Lakh MT paddy procurement has been done. In the year 2024-25, a total of 92 LMT has been procured, and 2.26 lakh tokens revalidated last year.

Odisha is one of the top states where farmers get the fastest payment, within 48 hours. It is decided that only Millers with no outstanding dues will be eligible to participate. 100% satellite verification across all 30 districts is going on. As Non-paddy cultivators are not allowed to sell paddy through registration, if found, such persons will be black listed. Arrangements have been made at all the mandis, for any grievance redressal or support, farmers can call the toll-free 1967.

To conduct & coordinate a smooth management, at ground level, operational provisions have been made accordingly. 3570 no. of total active PPCs have been prepared to make the procurement process smoother. Principal Secretaries from the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Empowerment, Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare, Finance, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Cooperation, and officers from all the above departments were present in the meeting and expressed their views to make the procurement process seamless.
