Odisha Chief Minister announced a 3% hike in DA for state government employees

Bhubaneswar:16/10/25:Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced a 3% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees ahead of Diwali.

The increase raises the total DA from 55% to 58%, offering financial relief to nearly 8.5 lakh employees and pensioners.

The revised DA will be implemented retrospectively from July 1, 2025. Employees will receive the enhanced amount in cash with their October salary. This festive gesture aims to support families during the Diwali season and ease inflationary pressures.

Alongside the DA hike, pensioners will also see a 3% increase in their Time-bound Increment (TI). The revised TI will be reflected in their October pension disbursement, ensuring parity in benefits across active and retired personnel.

The announcement reflects the state government’s commitment to employee welfare and acknowledges the contributions of public servants. By boosting allowances, the administration aims to improve morale and provide economic support during the festive period.

This move comes as part of a broader strategy to address cost-of-living concerns and maintain parity with central government pay revisions. The decision is expected to have a positive impact on household spending and local markets.
