Dy CM Sh Singh Deo visits Union Minister Sh Pralhad Joshi

Newdelhi:13/10/2025:During the New Delhi visit of Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Sh Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, he has made a courtesy call to the Hon’ble Union Minister, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, New & Renewable Energy, Sh Pralhad Joshi. Deputy CM Sh Singh Deo handed him the letter given by the Hon’ble Chief Minister for the enhancement of the procurement target of Custom Milled Rice under the Kharif Marketing Season. Deputy CM again seeks the kind intervention of the Hon’ble Union Minister regarding the issue. It emphasizes the enhancement of procurement targets and delivery of Custom Milled Rice under the Kharif Marketing Season 2024-25 in Odisha.

The procurement target fixed by the GoI remains at 50 LMT, but the actual resultant CMR from the paddy in the state stands at 62.54 LMT. Deputy CM urged for an urgent enhancement of the approved target to align with the actual procurement. Also requested for extension of the CMR delivery deadline from 31st October 2025 to 31st December 2025. Asked to issue necessary instructions to FCI to expedite lifting to complete the evacuation of the remaining balance within the extended timeframe. This will help in managing Odisha its storage and distribution.

During this meeting Principal Secretary, FS&CW Dept.Odisha Sh Sanjay Kumar Singh, Energy Dept. Odisha Sh Vishal Kumar Dev was present.
