Odisha based brand in Jackfruit to be developed – Dy CM Sh Singh Deo

Bhubaneswar-09/10/2025: Sri Mithilesh Desai, Chairman, JackfruitKing Agro Producer Company Ltd, Maharashtra, paid a courtesy visit to Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Energy Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo at Lokseva Bhawan today. Discussion held regarding Jack fruit cultivation and processing in Odisha State.

The discussion was made under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister in the presence of the Principal Secretary to the Government. DA & FE Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Director of Horticulture, Sh Kalunge Gorakh Waman, and other senior officials.

The discussions were made on Jackfruit Cluster on a PPP mode basis may be developed with h processing facility at Kandhamal, Keonjhar & Korap, the other 6 Mission districts like Angul, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, and Sundergarh. It was decided to spare the Agricultural/Horticultural Farm for the company for the area expansion of Jackfruit in the State, if required.

It was also decided to include the Padmapur Sub-division of Bargarh district and the Patnagarh Sub-division of Bolangir district under the Jackfruit Mission because of their agro-biodiversity. An exposure visit will be arranged for farmers/FPOs in Ratnagiri areas of Maharashtra for a better understanding of the business ecosystem of Jackfruit. Focus will be on end-to-end integration Odisha-based brand in Jackfruiis to be developed by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri Singh Deo.
