Government Refutes Advertisement Circulating On Social Media

Newdelhi:8/9/25:The Government today debunked the claims made by an advertisement circulating on social media, which claimed that the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is promoting a fake investment scheme. The advertisement falsely promises returns of up to 20 lakh rupees in a month after investing 21 thousand rupees.

The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) termed the claim as fake, stressing that no such scheme has been announced by the government. In a social media post, PIB clarified that the fake content is AI-generated and urged people not to fall for such misinformation. It further advised against clicking on any unverified links and warned that it can be a phishing attempt.
