Odisha CM Visits Sambalpur kicking off a series of programs and events in the region

Sambalpur: 6/9/25:Chief Minister Shri Mohan Majhi arrived in Sambalpur today, kicking off a series of programs and events in the region. Upon his arrival at the Jamadarapali Airstrip, the Chief Minister was greeted with a warm welcome and felicitated by local officials.

Among those who received the Chief Minister were Secretary Sports and Revenue Divisional Commissioner, Shri Sachin Ramachandra Jadhav, and Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Northern Range, Shri Himanshu Kumar Lal.

The Chief Minister’s visit is expected to include participation in various programs aimed at addressing public grievances and promoting regional development.

The event is being organized under the leadership of former minister and Sambalpur MLA Jayanarayan Mishra and will be held at the parking area of the Maa Samaleswari temple. Upon his arrival in Sambalpur, Chief Minister Majhi will offer prayers at both the Maa Samaleswari and Maa Patneswari temples.

It is worth noting that ‘Nuakhai Bhetghat’ refers to a traditional ceremonial meeting or gathering during the Nuakhai festival, which is celebrated primarily in Western Odisha.

It’s an important ritual where newly harvested crops are offered to the deities, and people come together to exchange greetings, gifts, and strengthen social bonds.The “Bhetghat” part signifies a respectful meeting or exchange, often involving elders, relatives, and community members
