Barna Bodha Inspires Young Minds: A Landmark Day in Odia Pakhya Celebrations

Bhubaneswar:7/4/25:As part of the ongoing Odia Pakhya celebrations, the seventh day was marked with the state-wide observance of the Barna Bodha Ustav. In this unique initiative led by the Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Department, the Barna Bodha, written by legendary poet Bhaktakabi Madhusudan Rao, was distributed among the school students.

The Culture Department coordinated with various schools to ensure the wide distribution of Barna Bodha. Special attention was given to remote regions to promote Odia literacy.

Many dignitaries joined hands in the celebration. Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Prabhati Parida participated in the event held at SSP High School in Nimapara, distributing the books among the children. Similarly, Minister of School and Mass Education Shri Nityananda Gond graced the event at the Government Primary School in Bhaluguda, Umerkote in Nabarangpur district, where he handed over the books to the students. He emphasized the significant role “Barna Bodha” in strengthening language learning and foundational education for the students. Balasore MP Shri Pratap Chandra Sarangi also attended the Barna Bodha distribution event at Nilagiri, where he motivated students and highlighted the pivotal role of Barna Bodha in laying the foundation for Odia language learning.

The day witnessed enthusiastic participation from educators, parents, and children alike. Citizens from all corners of the state lauded the innovative initiative of the Odia Language, Literatur,e and Culture Department for its dedicated efforts in enhancing Odia language literacy. Through this celebration, the department has reignited a sense of linguistic pride, making Odia Pakhya a truly inspiring celebration of heritage and learning.
