Odisha Chief Minister Urges to senior official collective responsibility to ensure the success of the government’s programs

Bhubaneswar: 01/1/25: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi held a meeting with senior officials at Lok Seva Bhavan on Wednesday, urging them to work with collective responsibility to ensure the success of the government’s programs.

According to an official press release, the Chief Minister chose to mark the New Year in a subdued manner out of respect for the national mourning following the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and the recent crop losses suffered by farmers due to unseasonal rains. Officers and employees conveyed their New Year greetings to the Chief Minister without bouquets, in line with the low-key celebrations.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted that most of the promises made by the government over the past six to seven months had been fulfilled. After discussions with the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretaries, and Principal Secretaries, he lauded the successful execution of various national-level events in Odisha, such as Navy Day and the DGP Conference, crediting the cooperation of the officers.

He emphasized the importance of continuing this momentum and urged officials to explore ways to position Odisha ahead of other states in development and governance. The Chief Minister encouraged everyone to collectively address challenges and seize opportunities to ensure the state’s progress.

Looking ahead, he stressed the need for Odisha to establish itself on the international stage by successfully organizing major events like the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas program.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the Union Government’s continued support for Odisha’s development. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited Odisha three times in the past six months and is scheduled to visit twice in January. Majhi urged officials to leverage this collaboration with the Centre to achieve the vision of a developed Odisha.

Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling echoed the Chief Minister’s optimism, expressing confidence that 2025 would be a year of significant progress for Odisha. They urged everyone to work towards achieving the state’s long-term vision for 2036 and 2047.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja praised the efficiency of Odisha’s officers and reaffirmed their commitment to achieving the government’s goals under the Chief Minister’s leadership.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Additional Chief Secretaries of all departments, Principal Secretaries, and other senior officials.
