Newdelhi:28/3/23:The ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY)’ is a demand driven scheme and Expressions of Interest (EoIs) are issued from time to time under its sub-schemes for inviting proposals from prospective entrepreneurs/ investors from all over the country. Entities like State Government Organizations/ PSUs/ Joint Ventures/ NGOs/ Cooperatives/ Self Help Groups (SHGs)/ FPOs/ Private Sector Companies/ Partnership firm’s/ Proprietorship firms etc. are eligible for submitting their proposals as per guidelines of various sub-schemes of PMKSY for availing financial assistance in form of grants-in-aid for setting up food processing facilities.
A total fund of Rs. 4099.76 crore has been allocated for the period from 2017-18 to 2022-23 under various sub-schemes of PMKSY namely (i) Mega Food Park Scheme, (ii) Scheme for Creation of Infrastructure for Agro Processing Clusters, (iii) Creation/ Expansion of Food Processing & Preservation Capacities Scheme, (iv) Scheme for Creation of Backward Forward Linkages, (v) Scheme for Integrated Cold Chain & Value Additional Infrastructure and (vi) Operation Greens Scheme. Out of this allocated amount, Rs. 3312.63 crore has been released in form of grants-in-aid for setting up food processing industries under various schemes. Under above-mentioned sub-schemes of PMKSY, in total, 1098 projects have been approved with grants-in-aid of Rs. 8117.00 crore for setting up food processing industries. The State-wise number of such projects approved are at Annexure-I.
