Three month special training program for newly appointed Assistant Labour Officers from the OCS 2023 batch was formally inaugurated

Bhubaneswar:10/3/26: A three-month special training program for newly appointed Assistant Labour Officers from the OCS 2023 batch was formally inaugurated at the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration under the State Labour and Employees State Insurance Department.

The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, Shri Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia, Minister for Forest, Environment and Climate Change, as well as Labour and Employees’ State Insurance.

In his address, the Minister congratulated the new officers and urged them to utilize the training from this prestigious institution to serve the public with unwavering sincerity and dedication.

The Director General of the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration and Additional Chief Secretary of the Labour and ESI Department, Smt. Chitra Arumugam, also addressed the trainees during the session.

She emphasized the critical importance of maintaining transparency and integrity within the workplace while also advising the officers to remain mindful of their personal health and well-being

Labour Commissioner Shri Indramani Tripathy spoke extensively on the ongoing labor reforms in the state. Shri Tripathy emphasized that the transition toward the new unified central labour codes is a transformative step aimed at establishing a modern and protected environment for the workforce

Earlier in the program, Monalisa Lenka, Deputy Director General of the Academy, provided a detailed overview of the goals and structure of the training curriculum. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Labour Commissioner Shri Indramani Tripathy.The event was attended by several senior officials, including Madhumita Nayak, Special Secretary of the Labour and ESI Department, Shri Rajesh Agrawal, Additional Secretary, and Shri Madan Mohan Paik, Additional Labour Commissioner. Their presence served to encourage the new cohort of officers as they begin their professional journey in labour administration.
