Nyaya Sanhita Exhibition Inaugurated in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar:6/3/25:A comprehensive five-day exhibition highlighting the new citizen-centric Nyaya Sanhita and associated legal reforms was formally inaugurated today at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Unit-3, Bhubaneswar.

The event seeks to educate the public, stakeholders, and citizens about the significant changes in India’s criminal justice system, with a strong emphasis on welfare, accessibility, transparency, and efficiency for the common man.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries from the state government, including Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Hon’ble Minister for Law, Works, and Excise Prithviraj Harichandan, and Hon’ble Minister for Cooperation Pradip Bal Samanta.

Senior officials present included Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma, and Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, along with other administrative and police representatives.

The exhibition features interactive and informative displays that explain the transition to the modern legal framework under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (replacing the colonial-era Indian Penal Code), along with related codes. Key highlights include how these reforms prioritise victim rights, faster investigations, technology-driven processes, and reduced delays to make justice more reachable and equitable.

Organised to foster greater public understanding, the exhibition will remain open to visitors over the coming days, allowing citizens to engage directly with the new provisions and their benefits.
