State Government ensures timely MSP payment through a robust Digital platform

Bhubaneswar-04.02.2026:The State Government has been working relentlessly to ensure timely, transparent, and error-free disbursement of Minimum Support Price (MSP) and Input Assistance for paddy procured from eligible farmers across the State. As a landmark reform to further strengthen transparency and eliminate the possibility of erroneous or duplicate payments, Aadhaar-based e-KYC verification has been implemented for the first time, ensuring that payments are credited exclusively to genuine farmers registered on the P-PAS (Paddy Procurement Automation System) portal.

The Government has extended financial assistance amounting to ₹12,703.74 crore to 10,56,693 farmers till now with regards to MSP and Input Assistance.

With more than 7.99 lakh farmers benefiting from the procurement operations so far, a limited number of 5,562 bank account-related issues have been encountered, leading to error cases.

These issues are primarily attributable to accounts reaching the maximum ceiling for the type of account, namely, Jan Dhan accounts/Airtel Payments Bank/India Post Payments Bank accounts. The other type of issues identified as inactive or frozen accounts, non-seeding of Aadhaar with bank accounts, closure of the bank account, pending KYC updates.

The State Government has taken proactive steps to address these issues. District-level field functionaries and officials are continuously engaging with affected farmers and facilitating corrective actions by encouraging them to visit their respective banks for necessary action. Regular SMS and phone calls are made to the affected farmers, informing them of the error type.

To further support the farmers, the Government has strengthened its grievance redressal mechanism. Farmers may seek assistance/clarification related to paddy procurement and payment through the toll-free helpline number 1967.
