President Murmu Unveils Projects for Education, Health, and Tribal Welfare

Rairangpur :4/2/26:  In a significant push for regional growth, President of India, Droupadi Murmu, today inaugurated the Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University Information Technology Campus and laid the foundation stones for several transformative projects in Rairangpur, Odisha.

These initiatives, aimed at enhancing education, healthcare, sports, and urban infrastructure, align with the government’s Purvodaya vision to accelerate development in eastern India.

The projects include an AYUSH Hospital cum Ayurvedic College, a new campus for the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, an Archery Centre, City Beautification and Drainage Upgradation Projects, an Auditorium and Cultural Centre, a Girls’ Hostel, and a Deaddiction Centre. Speaking at the event, President Murmu highlighted how these developments will create new employment opportunities and benefit the local community, particularly in the Mayurbhanj district.

“The Purvodaya vision prioritises Odisha’s progress, and Mayurbhanj is reaping substantial rewards,” the President stated. She expressed optimism that these schemes would foster economic upliftment and job creation, contributing to the region’s holistic growth.

President Murmu also underscored the central government’s commitment to tribal welfare, noting special efforts for economic empowerment. Key initiatives mentioned include providing Minimum Support Price (MSP) for over 90 minor forest products under the Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana, micro-credit loans for self-help groups, and low-interest loans for Scheduled Tribe women via the Tribal Women Empowerment Scheme.

Further emphasising health and education, she pointed to the Pradhan Mantri-JANMAN Yojana for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), alongside infrastructure improvements like electrification in tribal areas and 4G connectivity in remote regions. “These efforts are channelling holistic development into tribal communities,” she said.

The President stressed that achieving the upliftment of the poorest sections of society hinges on tribal progress. She urged citizens to utilise government welfare schemes and raise awareness among others, noting that local development will cascade into state and national advancement. “Our vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047 can only be realised through collective efforts between the government and the people,” she concluded.

This event marks another milestone in Odisha’s journey toward inclusive growth, with Rairangpur emerging as a hub for education, health, and cultural activities.
