Minister reviews paddy procurement in the state Emphasis on interest of every eligible farmer in the process

Bhubaneswar, 18/12/2025:The Kharif season paddy procurement process is currently underway in the state. Extensive arrangements have been made for this season. A review meeting was held through video conferencing under the chairmanship of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Shri Krushna Chandra Patra on the current status and progress of the paddy procurement process in the state, in which senior officers,s along with District civil supply officers, rs attended.

At the outset, the Principal Secretary, Shri Sanjay Kumar Sing,h was apprised about the paddy procurement in the state. As of now, the paddy procurement process is going on in Bargarh, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Sambalpur, Subarnapur, and Sundargarh. Apart from this, the CSOs were informed to upload mandi details through the PC-SAP app and to update the Mandi Monitoring System app. The minister Shri Patra instructed concerned officials to ensure Minimum failities like drinking water, toilets, temporary sheds, and installation of CCTVs in each mandi. He also emphasised that no eligible farmer is left out of the procurement process. Issuance of tokens and timely payment must get top priority, he said.

In addition to the preparedness, mandi nodal officers and supervising officers have been deployed. The district administration also keeps a close watch on the bordering areas of the state so that paddy from neighbouring states does not enter the state. Every vehicle carrying paddy from the mandi to the mill is also under scanner.

The meeting was attended by the Managing Director of the State Civil Supplies Corporation, Shri K. Sudarshan Chakravarthy, Senior Officers ଅଫ Department of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, and the State Civil Supply Corporation, among others.
