BJP Celebrates Historic Victory in Nuapada Bypoll

Bhubaneswar:14/11/25:In a resounding triumph that signals a shift in Odisha’s political landscape, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a historic win in the Nuapada by-election. The victory was celebrated with great fanfare at the party’s state office, where Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi hailed it as a mandate for development and clean governance.

Addressing the gathering, CM Majhi emphasised that “development is the foundation of trust and the chariot of progress.” He attributed the success to the inspiring leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party’s welfare schemes, and the transparent administration under the double-engine government in Odisha.

“The people of Nuapada have voted for development, rejecting false promises and propaganda,” Majhi stated, noting that the by-election turnout was record-breaking and reflective of the electorate’s faith in the BJP’s vision for a prosperous Odisha and a developed India.

The CM highlighted two key factors behind the win: the state government’s development agenda and the disrespect shown to the family of the late MLA Rajendra Dholakia by opponents, which he described as a betrayal that the voters avenged through their ballots. Majhi assured that announced projects for Nuapada would be expedited, and he extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected MLA, Jay Dholakia, expressing confidence in his ability to fulfill the aspirations of the constituents.

Majhi also praised the relentless efforts of state BJP president Manmohan Samal and his entire team, along with all party workers, for their hard work. “There was never any doubt about our victory; the real contest was for second place,” he quipped.

In his remarks, state president Samal described the government as having transformed from “zero to hero” in just 16 months, earning widespread popularity through its actions. He pointed out that no party had previously achieved such a landslide in Nuapada, which had long been neglected under past regimes. “The people stood with us like a pillar, trusting in PM Modi’s central leadership and CM Majhi’s state governance,” Samal said, thanking the voters profusely

The event also featured congratulations for the NDA’s historic victory in Bihar. CM Majhi extended warm wishes to PM Narendra Modi, national president JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan (who oversaw Bihar elections), and the re-elected NDA government in Bihar.

The celebration concluded with Samal presenting a bouquet to CM Majhi, followed by the sharing of sweets, symbolising the joy and unity within the party ranks. This dual victory—in Nuapada and Bihar—has infused fresh energy among BJP workers, setting the stage for further political momentum in Odisha.
