Mayurbhanj district has earned the Best Performing District Award under the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan

Newdelhi: 25/10/25:Mayurbhanj district has earned the Best Performing District Award under the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, a national initiative designed to empower tribal communities and support the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

On October 17, President Droupadi Murmu presented the award to Mayurbhanj Collector Hemakanta Say during a ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. This recognition celebrates the district’s exceptional execution of the Abhiyan over the past few months.

Initially launched as a pilot across all 1,363 villages in Mayurbhanj, the program emphasizes three pillars: Adi Karmayogi (government officials), Adi Sehyogi (motivated youth), and Adi Sathi (local villagers). Collector Say confirmed that the district established over 400 Adi Seva Kendras and developed thematic village action plans with active participation from tribal leaders.

Moreover, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs officially launched the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan in August 2025. Envisioned as the world’s largest tribal grassroots leadership initiative, the program promotes responsive governance, capacity-building workshops, and collaborative development planning.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Abhiyan reflects the principles of Sewa (Service), Sankalp (Resolve), and Samarpan (Dedication). It plays a vital role in the Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh celebrations, driving India’s inclusive development mission.

In addition to Mayurbhanj’s achievement, Odisha received the Best Performing State Award, further reinforcing its dedication to tribal welfare and participatory governance. Through strategic planning and community engagement, the state continues to set benchmarks in grassroots transformation.
