BJD candidate Snehangini Chhuria filed her nomination papers for the upcoming Nuapada assembly by-election

Nuapada:20/10/25:Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidate Snehangini Chhuria today filed her nomination papers for the upcoming Nuapada assembly by-election.

The filing, held on the final day for nominations, marks the beginning of a fiercely contested electoral battle scheduled for November 11.

Chhuria was accompanied by senior BJD leaders, including Prasanna Acharya, Pramilla Mallik, and Tukuni Sahu. The nomination ceremony was modest, attended by 30–40 party members, following a massive roadshow earlier that demonstrated the party’s grassroots strength.

The by-election has drawn attention across the state, with BJD president Naveen Patnaik expected to campaign in the constituency for two days. The contest is triangular, featuring Chhuria (BJD), Jay Dholakia (BJP)—son of late MLA Rajendra Dholakia—and Congress candidate Ghasiram Majhi. Political observers view the Nuapada by-election as a litmus test for all three parties
