New Audio and Chroma Recording Studio was inaugurated at Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya by Minister Suryabanshi Suraj

Bhubaneswar:31/8/25: A cutting-edge Audio and Chroma Recording Studio was inaugurated on Sunday at Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, marking a significant step forward in promoting Odisha’s rich cultural heritage. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Suraj emphasised the importance of the new facility in fostering Odisha’s music, dance, and theatre traditions.“This modern studio will greatly benefit our artistes and help showcase Odisha’s glorious cultural heritage to the world,” he said.

The Minister also announced that the Culture Department will soon release a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to facilitate access to the studio for both government programmes and private institutions.During the event, Minister Suraj witnessed the recording of an Odissi dance performance at the Chroma Studio and toured the Classical and Folk Instruments Museum located on the campus. He encouraged students to dedicate themselves to enriching Odisha’s literary, musical, dance, and folk traditions,The inauguration was attended by notable personalities, including Bijay Ketan Upadhyaya, Secretary of the Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Department; Dr. Bijay Kumar Jena, Principal of Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya; eminent Odissi dancers Aruna Mohanty, Sujata Mohapatra, and Ileana Citaristi; Odia actor Asrumochan Mohanty; Pragyan Ranjan Khatua; and several leading artistes from the fields of dance, music, and folk art.
