Bhubaneswar:20/8/25:Odisha is charging toward its vision of Samrudha Odisha by 2036, with the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) approving 19 investment proposals worth ₹4,514.83 crore in its 139th meeting.

Chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, IAS, these projects are set to generate over 8,200 jobs across eight districts—Angul, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda.

This strategic move underscores Odisha’s commitment to fostering inclusive industrial growth, balancing traditional sectors like steel and tourism with emerging industries such as green energy, electric vehicles, and data centres.

The approvals reflect Odisha’s investor-friendly policies and efficient governance under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. By spreading investments across diverse regions and sectors, the state is ensuring equitable economic development and robust job creation, aligning with its goal of sustainable, future-ready growth.

Sectoral Highlights Driving Odisha’s Growth

The approved projects span a wide range of high-impact sectors, reinforcing Odisha’s position as a premier investment destination in Eastern India.

Green Energy & Green Hydrogen

  • INOX Solar Ltd will establish a 5 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Assembly Plant in Dhenkanal with a ₹283 crore investment, creating 51 jobs.
  • Jindal Stainless Ltd will set up a Green Hydrogen manufacturing unit in Jajpur (₹90 crore, 89 jobs).
  • A Raipur-based company will invest ₹750 crore in a 2 GW solar cell manufacturing unit in Ganjam, generating 515 jobs.

Waste Management

  • Gravita India Ltd will invest ₹350 crore in a recycling unit in Angul for refined lead, alloys, and PP granules, creating 270 jobs.

Pharmaceuticals

Starcaps Global LLP will establish a pharmaceutical production unit in Khordha (₹80 crore, 145 jobs).

Tourism & Hospitality

Three projects worth ₹363 crore will boost Odisha’s tourism sector:

  • Padma Hospitality Pvt Ltd: A three-star hotel in Jagatsinghpur (₹59.91 crore, 181 jobs).
  • SNM Hotels & Resorts Pvt Ltd: A four-star hotel and resort in Jagatsinghpur (₹92.32 crore, 173 jobs).
  • Orissa Stevedores Ltd: A five-star hotel in Paradip, Jagatsinghpur (₹211 crore, 350 jobs).

Bio-Fuel

  • Vibrant Spirits Pvt Ltd will set up a 4,000 MTPA compressed biogas unit in Sundargarh (₹50 crore, 725 jobs).

Steel & Downstream Industries

  • Betabuilds Technologies Pvt Ltd: A steel processing unit in Sundargarh for ERW pipes, PEB manufacturing, and HR coil slitting (₹131.55 crore, 400 jobs).
  • Konark Ispat Ltd: Expansion in Jharsuguda with a 0.35 MTPA Rolling Mill, 0.6 MTPA Pellet Plant, and more (₹990 crore, 2,000 jobs).

Infrastructure & Logistics

  • Shree Jagannath Carriers Pvt Ltd: A logistics park and warehousing facility in Angul (₹111.90 crore, 300 jobs).
  • Sapient Resources Pvt Ltd: A 2×3 MTPA coal washery project in Angul (₹70 crore, 300 jobs).

Electric Vehicles (EVs)

  • Sanaka Auto Corp Ltd: An EV manufacturing plant in Khordha with a capacity of 10,000 units annually (₹300 crore, 145 jobs).

Digital & IT Infrastructure

  • Shreetech Data Ltd: A hyperscale data centre in Khordha (₹501 crore, 450 jobs).
  • West Edge Data Centres Pvt Ltd: A data centre and satellite internet services unit in Khordha (₹50.50 crore, 190 jobs).

Food & Beverages

  • Elixir of East – The Artisan Distillery LLP: A spirit manufacturing unit in Khordha (₹93.65 crore, 110 jobs).
  • Associated Alcohols and Breweries Ltd: A 200 KLPD grain-based distillery with an IMFL bottling unit in Khordha (₹300 crore, 1,812 jobs).

Odisha’s Vision for a Prosperous Future

Odisha’s rapid industrial expansion is driven by its robust single-window clearance system, established under the Odisha Industries (Facilitation) Act, 2004. The state’s GO SWIFT portal ensures transparent and time-bound approvals, making it a cornerstone of the “Ease of Doing Business” framework.

The SLSWCA’s approvals, combined with the success of initiatives like *Utkarsh Odisha 2025*, highlight Odisha’s ability to attract significant investments while fostering sustainable growth.

These projects are expected to enhance value addition, create thousands of jobs, and promote balanced regional development, positioning Odisha as a leader in India’s industrial landscape.
