Agrarian festival Nuakhai of western Odisha will be celebrated on September 8

Balangir: 6/8/24:The much-awaited agrarian festival Nuakhai will be celebrated on September 8 this year.

The Lagna (auspicious time) for the offering of Nabanna or newly harvested rice to Maa Pataneswari, the presiding deity of Balangir district, has been finalized. The Nabanna will be offered to the Goddess between 9:35 am and 10:07 am on September 8, as per reports.

Nuakhai is the agrarian festival celebrated across the western Odisha region with much gaiety. The festival is celebrated on the 5th day of the lunar fortnight of the month of Bhadraba as per the Odia almanac. It is celebrated in western Odisha districts of Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Bargarh, Subarnapur, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, and Boudh.
