State Police Headquarters has requested the biographical data of three senior IPS officers For Selection Of New Odisha DGP

Bhubaneswar:5/8/24 A recent communique from the Police State Headquarters in Cuttack, issued on Sunday, suggests that Odisha may soon get a new Director General of Police (DGP).

The State Police Headquarters has requested the biographical data of three senior IPS officers for consideration: Arun Kumar Ray, SM Narvane, and YB Khurania. The selection process for the new DGP has commenced, with the Odisha government seeking detailed profiles of these officers.

Currently, AK Ray serves as the Director of Printing, Stationery, and Publication while SM Narvane is posted as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Home Department.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the premature repatriation of YB Khurania, IPS, Special DG, BSF to his parent Odisha cadre with immediate effect.

This move has led to speculation about his potential nomination as the next DGP of Odisha.

At present, IPS officer Arun Kumar Sarangi is in additional charge of DG of Police, Odisha. Sarangi will remain the DGP
