Odisha CEO Submitted Poll Results To Governor

Bhubaneswar: 6/6/2 4:The Election Commission of India (ECI) lifted the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) on Thursday following the announcement of the results of the Lok Sabha polls. The MCC had come into force on the 16th of March with the announcement of Lok Sabha and Assembly polls.

The EC has informed the Union Cabinet Secretary and state chief secretaries that the MCC has ended with immediate effect following the declaration of results for the Lok Sabha elections and assembly polls in Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh, as well as some assembly by-polls.

However, the MCC is still applicable in those constituencies where bye-elections are to be held, across the country.

In a related update, Odisha’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunja Bihari Dhal presented the results of the Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections to Odisha Governor Raghubar Das at the Raj Bhavan. The CEO also provided the notification regarding the constitution of the newly elected Odisha Legislative Assembly to the Governor, with the presence of the officials from the Election Commission of India.

During this event, the Governor expressed gratitude to the CEO and other officials for the peaceful management of the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha.
