New Delhi:28/3/24: Senior BJD leader and MP Bhartruhari Mahatab, actor-politician Sidhant Mohapatra and Santali Author Damayanti Beshra joined BJP on Thursday in Delhi.

The event took place in the presence of party national general secretary Vinod Tawde, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, party Odisha Chief Manmohan Samal and National Vice President Baijayant Panda.

Bhartruhari Mahatab, the son of Odisha’s former Chief Minister Harekrushna Mahtab, a six-time MP from Cuttack Parliamentary Constituency earlier resigned from BJD. He remained victorious as an MP for successive six times in 1998, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019. Expressing his resentment on BJD he said he had lost his patience in the party as everything was not right.

Sidhant Mohapatra, the Odia film actor and a two-time Berhampur MP also joined BJP along with Padmashri Damayanti Beshra.
