International Odissi Dance Festival witnessed memorable performances by young, established and legendary dancers

Bhubaneswar: 28/12/23:The International Odissi Dance Festival witnessed some memorable performances by young, established and legendary dancers in its three sessions.

Today morning session guests were Guru Nimakanta Routray, eminent Odissi Vocalist, Guru Kasturi Pattnaik Noted Odissi dancer, Guru Manoranjan Pradhan, Odissi dance guru, Utkal University of Culture and Santosh Chatterjee, Deputy Director, Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department.

The morning session featured Group, Duet, Solo performances by Sai Smruti Kala Kendra (Group), Shantipriya Swain (Solo), Ishita Roy (Solo), Simon Swain & Anmesha Mishra (Duet), Rajashree Mohapatra (Solo), Neelasha Das (Solo), Mousumi Sahoo & Prajna Priyadarshani Pani (Duet), Soumya Safalya Priyadarshini (Solo), Rojalin Nayak (Solo) and Nrutyajyoti Dance Academy (Group). The dancers mesmerized the audience with their splendid performance.

The afternoon session started with Solo dance by Sabina Sweta Sen, Duet dance by Ratikanta Nanda & Deepak Ku Swain and Manoranjan Nayak & Raseswari Nayak, Solo dance by Sekhar Suman Majhi and Group dance by Srirdha Kalakunja.

The evening programme started with Solo Odissi dance by eminent dancer Madhusmita Mohanty followed by another Solo dance by Rajashri Praharaj. Duet dance performed by Sarmistha Rani Panda & Nibedita Maharana followed by Sourav Mohanty (Solo), Aishwariya Singhdev (Solo), Subrata Roy & Rahul Roy (Duet), Chandrika B Mahapatra (Solo), Atrayee Dutta (Solo) and the last presentation was Group dance by the students of Tridhara Institute. The Odissi lovers in large numbers were delighted by the superb performance of Odissi repertory.

The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Dr Subas Pani, Former Chief Secretary, Odisha, Prof. Prasan Kumar Swain, Vice Chancellor, Utkal University of Culture, Atasi Das, Joint Secretary, Odia Language, Literature and Culture, Gajendra Padhi, Principal, B. K. Art College, Sikata Das, Chief Executive, GKCM Odissi Research Centre and Anuja Tarini Mishra, Administrative Officer, GKCM Odissi Reach Centre.
