Odisha Chief Minister providing assistance of Rs 2 lakh to each laborer rescued from Uttarakhand tunnel

Bhubaneswar:1 /1 2/23: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday provided Rs 2 lakh financial assistance to each Odia worker rescued from the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand.

The workers met the Chief Minister at Naveen Niwas after they reached Bhubaneswar.

Naveen congratulated them and inquired about their health condition. The Odia workers thanked the CM for his sympathy.

The workers who met the Chief Minister are Raju Nayak, Dhiren Nayak, Bisheshwar Nayak from Mayurbhanj district and Bhagban Bhatra from Nabarangpur district. Their family members were also present with them.

They all narrated the ordeal inside the tunnel. Explaining them as real heroes, the CM said that the way they fought for their lives is truly inspiring.

Yesterday, 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman VK Pandian had talked to them over video conferencing and inquired about their health.Labour Minister Sarada Prasad Nayak was present during the meeting. He had camped in Uttarakhand to monitor the rescue operation. He returned to the State with the workers.The Labour Commissioner was also present.
