Thailand’s Buddha Temple pandal at Baramunda Puja Mandap

Bhubaneswar:10/10/23: Around 40 artists from West Bengal are busy making Thailand’s Buddha Temple-themed pandal at Baramunda. The pandal will be 120 feet long and 65 feet tall.

Similarly, artists from Jajpur are busy making 14 feet 14-foot-tall idols of Goddess Durga. The Goddess will be decorated with silver crowns and gold ornaments and other deities will be decorated with silver ornaments.

Besides, the entire field will be decorated with light. As many as 10 CCTV cameras will be installed in the field to keep vigil on Puja Mandap.

The committee will deploy 120 volunteers for crowd management. Melody and other cultural events will be held for five days.

Fireworks for Ravan Podi will be the main attraction this year. The puja committee has laid out a budget of Rs 2 lakh in this regard.

This year we are celebrating the 24th year of Durga Puja at Baramunda.  We have laid out a budget of Rs 25 lakh for this year, said puja committee president Ramachandra Ranasingh.

Special arrangements have been made to manage traffic and crowds as the puja mandap is situated adjoining the National Highway. We have planned to deploy 120 volunteers for crowd management and 10 CCTV cameras will be installed to keep watch on the pandal and the ground, said committee chairman Narendranath Sahoo.
